Origins
It’s been said that necessity is the mother of invention, and that certainly was what drove the inception of the Bloodshed Betties. After the League’s Fresh Meat intake during the earlier part of the season, it was discovered by Michelle Sylvest (aka. Pulptown Pumela) that she and several other players would either have to drive to Nelson to play, or wait around until spaces became available on closer teams. Never one to sit on the sidelines, Pumela recognized the need for a new team to serve the needs of skaters of the Trail area. Pumela and what would become the Betties took their DIY ethic to the track and built their own team from the ground up.
